Baseball in a skirt...

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

What a great long weekend. Hope you folks celebrating Victoria day enjoyed the extra time off! Just like any long weekend it went by too quickly. The weather was fabulous we spent time outside, went for a run and took time out for some yoga and picked out some pretty flowers to get the garden back to life. R did good - spent all weekend outside and now our yard looks fantastic! Although we still have our backyard to pay attention too. Endless. The highlight of the weekend for me was actually playing baseball with my family.  It was simple and a perfect way to have a really good time and kinda marked a new beginning for me of just learning how to relax and enjoy the fun moments more.
Baseball in a skirt. I had a great time with my kids and I'm pretty sure they had no idea that mama could even hold a bat, let alone hit a ball.

 R's gardening looking good.

Nohting like fresh black mulch and a trimmed up yard.

Ya the ugly side of our yard. This space needs hlep. First we need a gate and then anything else that can possibly make our backyard entrance happier.

ooh this door from Home Depot would look good for starteres wouldn't it? And ya, some fresh grass would help too. Anyone got any good ideas? Share away.

Let the wedding season begin. Got my box of Indian sweets and a wedding card the other day signalling some upcoming nuptials. We have a few this summer and I have a big one coming up next year. So let the outfit shopping searches begin! Enough rambling from me...here is some pretty.
A lovely Gaurang Shah lengha feels so summery and perfect spotted here. I can say the same about this light and bright entry way featured on theglitterguide.com

Such a delicate green and gold combo on this Farah Firdo anarkali suite spotted here works stunningly well in this gorgeous room featured in Architectural Digest.

happy mother's day to the most important lady in my life...

If you paint it...it will come. Para Paint giveaway today!

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

My office painting must happen. Yes R, this is directed to you since you are so picky. I will prep the room this weekend and make arrangements to get rid of the ghastly old sofa bed. Thanks to the awesome folks at Para Paints I have cans waiting to be cracked open (no excuses, right?).  This is my ugly office that needs a good slap of paint.
Look at this glamour shot. I didn't even bother picking up the pillow for this shot. That's how I keep it real.

Alright, so now your asking what colour are you painting it. Wait for it....

I know...WHITE. I want this space feeling fresh and less doctor's office dingy. Indigo action will go in my bookcases. Boom. That is my wild side right there. I used the Para colour forecast palette because it pairs up paint that complements each other - no brainer, which is perfect for me.

So now for the good stuff. One of you EXTREMELY decor savvy readers will win 3 GALLONS OF PARA PAINT - colour of your choosing. So if you are lazy peeps like me and need something to get you going. ENTER and WIN. I'm pretty sure you have something that needs painting in your house.  This is what you have to do:

EASY PEEZY. So when you win and glam up your house - you'll thank me & Para Paints!

I will announce winner next Wednesday May 15, 2013.

This contest is open to Canadian residents (excluding Quebec).

My decorating is dragging...

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

My office makeover is taking forever. Seriously, I have only been thinking about it for years and still barely a blip on the decorating scale. Frustrating. I even decided in January of this year to get a designer involved ( Laura Collins from Gracefully Searching) to get the mojo going and avoid any husband hiccups (third party opinions are helpful). Laura and I talked it out and came up with this together.
I figured I would show you the 'plan' because right now, that's where it stopped. Laura has been great. She would be happy to know that I purchased the Ikea Besta units, a West Elm sofa bed and of course have the Para paint ready to go. So what's the hold up? I have no idea. So peeps what do you guys do when the decorating drags?
