Today is blog entry number one and I want to say welcome to designwali.

As an avid design blog reader for years, you would think I could string a few sentences together to introduce myself into the decorating blogging community. As I have discovered, it is not so easy. I’m not a writer by any means, nor am I interior designer by profession. I'm just a lover of inspired spaces and great design choices and I hope that this blog will serve as a catalogue of wonderful design ideas and musings for you to enjoy with me. Like my little dancer above, something I borrowed from my mom's trinket collection, isn't she lovely?

Personally, I enjoy clean-lined urban and contemporary spaces with a bit of mid-century modern mixed in with Indian and Asian inspired pieces. But honestly, I love it all. I believe good design is all about good choices.

Give me a cup of chai (or a Starbucks misto) with a decor mag or a laptop tuned into one of my favourite design blogs and I'm in my happy place.

So grab a cup of tea or anything else that suits your fancy, sit back and find your happy place too.

A sincere thank you to the whopping three of you who are reading this now and for those who have found me a just little later...welcome.

Congrats sis on starting this blog - it is about time. As much as I love your design "talk" better you share your ideas with real enthusiasts and design lovers. I will read this daily to support you. But seriously you need to help me finish my kitchen. I need chairs. The lawn chairs are starting to get a bit much ... Do not forget I am on mat leave and have a limited budget. Thanks so much you are awesome :) Good luck!
