Kiddy Corner: Toddler Room Inspiration

Saturday, January 30, 2010

I actually got an email from a reader asking me a design question! Albeit, a person I know, but someone nonetheless. Sorry for the delay, I didn't realize someone would actually email me a question. Firstly, congratulations on your newest addition P. Here are some inspiration shots and suggestions for you to puruse when bumping kid #1 into her new big girl room. Enjoy!

Start with some gorgeous gypsy wall decals available at Fawn&Forest
You could try Benjamin Moore's Bluegrass to replicate that wall colour.
An eames rocker would last her a lifetime, for a real one try Gabriel Ross.

If you need a bed try the Edland four poster bed available at Ikea. Sophisticated and fun.
Don't you want her to feel like a princess?

Of course, while your at Ikea, you can get a grey Edland chest of drawers.  Yum.

Of course there is bunting, you need lots and lots of bunting.

Sorry I got a little carried away, but here are some beautiful rooms that
would make both mommy and toddler very happy.

Sweet and rustic. Room featured on JJ Locations.

Just plain sweet with all that bunting. Image via Violet Posy.

Pretty. Image and room featured on Odeedoh.

Ok so now my daughter wants me to transform her room into this. Image via Mr. Yuko.

Love the use of paint here. Image via Design & Dazzle.

I've been subscribing to your blog since the first week. It's great so far - keep it up! I've been looking for a paint colour similar to the one in the first photo recently, so I looked up BM Bluegrass, but didn't have any luck. Do you have a color number by chance?

Thank you so much roastbreadfruit!I am so happy that someone actually enjoys my blog!

BM Bluegrass CC-640 is a great colour. It is blue and green (depending on your light). It is a fantastic soothing colour. Can't go wrong.

Thanks for the comment, made my day! Feel free to ask any other question or topic you would like me to ramble on about!!
