Toile touch...

Saturday, February 27, 2010

For my delightful reader J who wanted to know more about decorating with toile. I never thought I would be one to enjoy toile. I didn't think I could incorporate such classic French fabric into a modern mix. But then I found my chair.

Yes, I have tablas next to my toile. But I love it and it works.

For some strange reason when I was in the store I was oddly drawn to it (classic fabric usually isn't my thing). Call it an impulse buy or leap of faith, I bought it immediately and threw it into my living room. After a little initial resistance from hubby dearest, the toile chair is part of our living mix. It looks fabulous. So for those of you a little uncertain, just do it. Here are some creative examples of inserting that toile touch into your homes...

Yep that is my chair again. How cool is that flower lamp and branch art? Image via decorpad.

I'm thinking I should have gone for a matching ottoman.

For you gutsy folks out there, this wallpaper with matching chair are killer.
