Feeling too blue about her blue...

Thursday, April 15, 2010

A reader, and a friend, sent me a design emergency email. She purchased what she thought at the time was a fabulous blue custom sofa. It has arrived and is in her space and of course she is second guessing herself and hating it. She wants me to pop on over and perform a design rescue and get her out of this rut. I have agreed (quite frankly I love challenges like this). I haven't seen the piece yet, so I'm not sure what kind of blue she has but I don't think it really matters. Whether its navy, turquoise, robin's egg or a grey blue colour, I'm pretty confident that with the right touches a blue sofa can work and create beautiful living spaces. Check out some of these fantastic spaces that all feature 'blue' sofas. They certainly don't make me feel blue at all.

Great blue sofa with gold cushions and tan leather. Fabulous. Image via decorpad

A turquoise sofa that finishes the eclectic look. Love the Indian end table and bright
cushions. Image via decorpad

A softer and classic blue to compliment a classic look. Pretty. Image via here

A really comfy blue. Image via livingetc

My favourite I think. Delicious yellows, browns, whites all with the blue main character. Image via 6th street design school
