One of a kind indeed...

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

I dragged hubby & kids to the One of the Kind show held here in Toronto over the long weekend. I'm not a huge crafter or anything, but I wanted to check it out and enjoy the weather here all the same time. Then I found something one of a kind indeed, feast your eyes on this...

I think one of the most exquisite coffee tables I have ever seen. A beautfiul blend of finely treated walnut with glass. It was absolutely stunning. This piece is created by Marc Honsberger of HOLTZfurniture. All his work in his booth was wonderful and his website is great as he shows you how he salvages and produces his creations.  Sadly, as much as hubby and I both wanted it (yes, we actually agreed on it) it was way out of our price range. But I want someone to get it as it would look fabulous in any home with any style!

Other great finds we fell in love with were works by Peter Burnett of Vibration for the Nation.

Peter was fun to talk too and told us he works primarly in cherry. We loved his folded waterfall tables and he does them in the coffee table versions too!

Finally we came across Toronto Based Urban Tree Salvage (I guess you guys have probably figured out by now that we are on the hunt for a wood coffee table). These guys are great as they salvage local Toronto trees and produce fantastic pieces of art.

I did like this table as well. I like mixing the natural wood with something industrial. Available at Urban Tree Salvage.

Now hubby & I have some serious decisions to make. I'll keep you posted on what we finally settle on.

Dear Designwali - I do love these coffee tables. Could you please provide hints and tips for my dungeon as well ?
I did request help a few weeks back but got no response. As a reminder, there is no natural light but has exposed stone with wall mounted chains. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I love all these tables. The first one is really cool -- it really looks like the table is floating!! Such an interesting combination of wood & glass.

Good luck with your table decision!!
