Desi art: Indian Matryoshka doll prints...

Friday, May 7, 2010

I think all of us have seen the class Russan Matryoshka dolls. My parents have a set they picked up from Moscow that I was planning to 'borrow' for my daughter's room. So I was pleasantly surprised to find the Indian Matryoshka doll print on Etsy. North Carolina native, Amy Perrotti, is a graphic designer who has produced beautiful prints available on etsy. You can check out Amy's blog here too. Amy does a wide variety of prints perfect for little kiddy rooms. She even has Tibetan, Portugese and Chinese dolls prints. I adore them all and I especially like the message they send to little girls like mine  - princesses come from all over the world.  Happy Friday folks and hope your weekend will be full of loving all the princesses in your lives.

Acqua Indian Girl Matryoshka available on etsy.

Indian Mothers and Daughters. I love this one. How perfect for this mother's day weekend ahead. Also available on Etsy.

Thank you for featuring my Indian Matryoshkas! Indian women seemed a very natural subject for matryoshkas because their clothing, jewelry, etc., are all so feminine and beautiful. I am very flattered and happy that you like these. I love and admire people of all cultures and in my drawings attempt to celebrate and honor them. My husband and I adopted our daughter from China. Being a multiple race family really opens ones eyes even wider to the beauty of all peoples.
Love and peace to you and your readers. :)
