I could live like this...Barcelona beauty

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

My sister and her family are in Barcelona, Spain right now. Yes, I'm extremely jealous. My memories of Barcelona are so wonderful that I'm desperate to go back with my kids one day. The most distinct memory for me was how prevalent design was in Barcelona. It was hard to escape it. I mean Gaudi influences everywhere, the ever present Sagrada Familia and of course the uber chic and luxury of the hotels we stayed at. If I went now, I would most certainly drown in all the design eye-candy. I hope my sister comes back with loads of pictures of fabulous Barcelona rooms for me to post on and on about, but I think its pretty unlikely as she'll most likely be on the beach or shopping on the Ramblas. Oh well, in the meantime, let's look at some fabulous Barcelona interiors... ya, I could live like this.
Check out this crazy former textile factory in Barcelona, turned into an extraordinary living space by designer Cristina Rodriguez. Image via Design for Life

More of this fabulous space by Cristina Rodriguez. The concrete floors are surprisingly warm in this space. Image via Design for Life.

I know, the ceiling height is amazing. But look at the swing? Image via Design for Life.

Amazing take on the 4 poster bed. Stunning design by Barcelona interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán. Image via Interior Design Sense.

I love the scale here. Great mirror and fantastic artwork. Another fabulous space by  Lázaro Rosa-Violán. Image via Home Interior Design Themes.

Black and white at its best. Another beautiful room by Lázaro Rosa-Violán. Image via Sleeper Magazine

This red oriental bar is stunning. I should have done this in my basement! Another design stunner by Lázaro Rosa-Violán. Image via Interior Design.

Thanks for thinking of us. You are right I did not take pictures of hotel rooms but I got you some trendy barcelona design magazines to enjoy. Barcelona is beautiful and suprisingly kid friendly :)
