Modern country for an English manor?

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

I have a wonderful aunt to happens to be the proud owner of lovely historic English manor in the UK countryside (sigh...I know). Anyways, it requires a little work and more importantly she is seeking some major design inspiration. So I think a little modern country might do the trick? I'm not even exactly sure what that means but I think I can find spaces less contemporary for you. Bhuaji (means aunt in Punjabi) anything tickle your fancy?
Gorgeous fireplace. Maybe still too modern for you? Image via here.
Love those grey cabinets and white stone counterop. Open shelving with exposed white dinnerware...a staple for casual kitchen. Image via here.
Believe it or not this is a country home. I love the mix of the new table with old chandelier. Image via the one & only Elle Decor.
Okay I know, enough with the white already! But it really does open up and freshen up spaces. Image via Country Living.
A little French country anyone? I got to admit I love that antique screen and striped settee. Image via Better Homes & Gardens.
Great little online magazine I found...check this country space out? Image via Home & Cottage.
Check out the legs on this baby and those floors....dreamy. Image via Home & Cottage.

The grey kitchen is amazing! Just look at the cabinet under the sink, it's a completely different feel when the light hits it. Some pictures just "speak to you". This one has drilled a hole in my skull and has permanently parked itself in the part of my brain that controls design desire.
