Holiday Cheer...

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

I hosted a holiday gathering at my house this past weekend. That meant great food, fabulous friends and loads of laughs. Kiddies had a blast with gingerbread men & ornament decorating. While us grown up folks indulged in lovely cheeses, yummy champagne cocktails courtesy of my hubby and stellar chocolate cake.  Of course I had superb tunes playing in the background (courtesy of Jason from these roving eyes..seriously people, genius playlists). The only bummer? The evening went by far too quickly.
I was going to get me a white pointsetta but then I spotted these magnolia leaves and made my own little holiday bouquet.
I'm so proud of my little magnolia number- yes those are sparkly snowflakes I threw in for that extra holiday twinkle.
Yummy cheeses & figs courtesy of my friend S.
Okay the star of the show. C's chocolate German number with fresh ganache. It tasted as good as it looked.
The money shot. And that cake stand - Homesense people.

That magnolia bouquet is a true inspiration S! Lovely! I have saved it in my inspiration folder. You might just see it up on SHP someday ;)

Hello, Great bouquet! on another note, is that glass back splash? I am asking because our kitchen reno just finished and the backsplash is glass tile and it is terribly done, mesh is visible! Please let me know if it is glass backsplash and if you are happy with the result. Thanks

Hey Shadi - yes that is a glass backsplash with 2X12 tiles. I'm totally happy with the result. Super easy to clean and we don't have any mesh showing...now that would be a problem. Make them do it again.
