How to display your christmas cheer?

Thursday, December 9, 2010

I just got my very first Christmas card in the mail. I love getting cards in the mail. Hey, anything beats bills! Aside from feeling really behind in sending mine out, every year I struggle about how to display my Christmas cards. Usually, they sit on a ledge and of course, you walk by they fall. I need a solution...a good looking modern solution. Here is what I've seen so far. Anyone have any ideas?
Neat, but I'm not loving it. Available at Potterybarn.
Not bad. But would it work with standard size cards? Image via here.
I like the simplicity, but i don't have the wall space for this. I need something that would sit on a ledge. IMage via here.
This one is my favourite so far...a few of these on a ledge, could do the trick. But I'm still hunting for more modern. hmm. Image via here.
A whole series of these might work. Image via here.

My parents put up a string from one wall to another wall (the space that divides the family room from the kitchen) and they display the cards across that string. It stays out of the way, looks festive and everyone can see them. Wish I had a pic to share but hopefully I described it well.

Those snowflakes are adorable. I like to string up my cards like bunting over the dining table. Everyone seated can take a peek at them over a great dinner.
