I'll go for the gorgeous elegance. Pale turquoise, yum! How cute is that chair?!
I'd go with pic 1. The antique bench, and coat hooks, made of an old ladder cut in half are the perfect back drop, for real life living. Those pieces are so casual and beautiful, that even if you dropped your coat and bag on the bench or the floor beside the bench, it would probably still end up looking artful and stylish.
Top photo - you know me - i love a little rustic charm.
While I love the settee used by SK, it doesn't seem practical for a foyer, at least not in the Northeast, perhaps it's because she's a southern gal(GA, right.) We have mud, muck, and snow through the first part of spring. The first pic is both beautiful & functional. I've been looking for an umbrella stand just like that for both umbrellas(duh,) and lacrosse sticks which seem to multiply when I'm not looking. Thanks for sharing.
@laxsupermom that umbrella stand looks like its from Ikea as I have 2 of those at home.
I would pick picture no. 1. It seems very realistic to just use it, not that picture no. 2 is not, but feels more practical. Those flip flops really show that its really welcoming to just plonk yourself on that bench.
Hampton Chic! I like things casual ;D
Thanks, I'll have to look for them the next time I'm in Philly. We don't have an Ikea within a 3hr drive, so I always have to take the time to stop when we're out of town.
I will go with Pic 1. Cool, fresh and inviting
