You should really backup ....really...

Thursday, June 9, 2011

I lost all my pictures on my blackberry so now I'm sad. Stupid me (who works in IT) knows it is a cardinal rule to backup. I just never bothered with my blackberry and I really should have because I took loads of 'in the moment' pics of the kids, Homesense trips and random shots of pretty things. Aww man I just realized I had one of my favourite pics of my son's face covered with toothpaste on there...sorry I digressed. Anyway, I always enjoyed flipping through my BB pics. Defective SIM card was the culprit. Thankfully I still have my Macbook Pro catalogue of pics...but I have recently found out that I need a new hard drive to make these files compatible for backup as it won't work on my current hard drive? Is anyone else say "whaa?' like me. Anyway my shoulders are too tense to figure this out right now.
Ain't that the truth. Cute art via here.

Ahh, no! Is there anyway to recover it? I had a memory card error and lost all my photos, I was able to save them using a program called 'Data Rescue'. No idea if it'd work for you, but worth checking out.

Thanks for the backup reminder, at least you still have all your computer pics!

I have been putting this task off for a very long time but you have convinced me to get to it. Sorry about the loss:(

Aww, sorry to hear about your loss :(

Yes, that poster says it all! I often wonder how I would explain to my future kids what life was like 'back in the day', even before the internet, let alone smartphones, twitter, facebook...

UGH, that is the worst, so sorry.

The poster is funny. When my oldest son was about seven I was telling him about the time before we had the internet and even a computer(I know, olden days). He then proceeded to ask me "Well, how did you Google?"

This sounds awful! I just lost a chip that had all my photos in it. I plan to turn the house out looking for it this weekend- keeping my fingers crossed!
