Desi wedding...bhangra anyone?

Friday, August 5, 2011

So no desi wedding is complete without full on bhangra dancing and a wild night of partying. G & N's reception was a mad party with the dance floor packed all night long. Everything felt glamorous with gorgeous decor, a colourful sea of sarees and of course a superbly happy bride & groom. I really regret not taking more artsy pictures...but the good tunes were playing and well, I just had to follow the music! Hope some of you get to do a little of that this weekend too. Happy Friday folks.
Cute little cake adorned with apples for the two teacher newlyweds!
This picture doesn't do the setting justice as it did feel like an enchanted forest when you walked in. Event decor by The Perfect Setting.
Can I say my sister's reception outfit was killer. She looked absolutely fantastic and of course, G looked dashing too. Her dress/ lengha was courtesy of Blue Peacock.
All my family looked terrific in their wonderful sarees & suit!
I cleaned up pretty nice too. I loved my saree! Salmon pink and dark purple threading detail with crystals and sequins! I felt divine. A Manish Malhotra creation.
Of course my brother and his friends busted out the bhangra dance moves for the occaision!
Well past midnight and time to bring out our sparkly flip flops and give our feet a break! All images via me!

We were at a friend's wedding reception last October at a swanky hotel in the city. We noticed some women in sarees and went wandering around till we found the room with the Indian wedding. The colours were just gorgeous, music was playing, people were laughing & dancing... there was a serious party going on! We didn't want to go back to the reception we were supposed to be at!

All the sarees are gorgeous, and I agree, your sister's reception dress is killer! WOW! Love your saree too with the purple :-)
