Desi Art Giveaway week....Words Are Wish Bones

Friday, March 23, 2012

What a great week. Such fantastic artists and I must say I love showcasing 'desi' talent...kinda makes me happy that there is such a range of talent out there from all kinds of folks and from all over the world. Today I have another bright new talent. Simi from Words Are Wish Bones is Punjabi-American who is an anthropologist writer who has a strong passion in supporting Asian American artistry through her written and visual mediums. Simi tries as much as possible to incorporate her experiences and those of the people she meets into her work. Simi believes that sometimes the most mundane moments can be the most special. She creates just that..have a look.
Lovely. June available here.
One of my absolute favourites. "Diwali" available here.
Street Market, Vietnam available here.

One lucky Designwali reader will win this beautiful "Bhangra Dance" print. This giveaway is open to ALL readers as Simi will ship around the globe. Very cool. This is an original piece that is my absolute favourite I may have to get Simi to make me one more just like it!

So what do you have to do to win this piece? Easy Peezy.

1. Visit Simi's shop and tell me which piece is your favourite. Leave me a comment.
2. Tweet about her work. Leave me a comment.
3. Follow me on GFC and/or Like me on Facebook. Leave me a comment.

Simple right?
I will announce winners on Monday March 26, 2012! Make sure to enter all my giveaways this week! Thanks so much to the fabulous artists who participated.

Happy Friday folks!

What lovely pieces of art. I like the Dandelion 1!

I absolutely love the 'October' piece. I love how the girl is leaving the umbrella behind to "expose" herself to the rain. I think the deeper meaning behind this piece is why hide from the rain, why not embrace it... a metaphor for embracing the world around you.
