Desi Art...mixed media marvels

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

Etsy is addictive. I had been ignoring it for a while (save the wallet) but when you go back ...there is just so much inspiration it just blows you away (and usually kills a few hours of your time). Today I wanted to feature a lovely touch of desi art through Jennifer Parker's mixed media work. I'm enjoying all the visual eye candy in her pieces. Her work screams well travelled and well thought out. Plus its real pretty and makes me think happy thoughts. You can check out Jennifer's website here & browse through her shop here to find more fun stuff.
This one is so lovely. Loving the Hindu Goddess, lotus flower, India stamp and Tibetan mantra beneath her feet!   The Offering is available here.
Love the colour and pattern in this India piece available here.
A perfect daily reminder right? You are a Gem is available here.

These are beautiful, I'm loving the colors. The third one would have to be my fave :)

Is she a Hindu goddess? The style reminds me Islamic art. Her dress, jewelery is absolutely Muslim :). Are those Lotus flowers or Lilies?
The picture is lovely, just the information on that site is misleading...

Thank you for the nice compliments. I purchased the antique artwork while I was traveling through India (Rajasthan and Mussoorie). :)
