We had a wonderful ordinary long weekend. Refreshingly simple. No formal plans just trips to garden centres, paint stores, sprinkler family bonding, enjoying some lovely Pimms (yummy British drink) with my sisters and cousin R, oh and I even squeezed in an anti-aging facial and planted a real bush and crafted something I spotted on Pinterest. Who am I? I sound like I'm on fire. Did you catch the last bit? I actually dug a whole in the ground and planted a bush/shrub plant thingy with my Dollarama garden gloves and spade I found in my garage. My friends just might be gasping as they read this because I don't garden. Like never. I'm usally very good at hiring folks to tackle the landscaping duties for me, but have never done any planting by myself. I was trying to get out of my comfort zone and try something new to challenge myself. I'm not sure I was particularly good at it but I did it. I even think my husband muffled under his breath something like "good job". Don't worry R, outside work is still all yours....but you never know, my inner garderner may want to make an appearance once and awhile.

My plant. I can't remember what it was called...something wine. The lady at
Glen Echo nurseries said it would be a great addition to our little garden. Yep I secured this baby in her new home!
There she is in her splendour! I even laid down that black mulch. Yes, as I write this I'm shocked I even know this gardening lingo!
Of course all that hard work meant enjoying a nice summer drink with my gals! Yes the overload of fruit means its a tasty and equally healthy drink. All images via me.

It was such an awesome weekend here in Toronto! We planted a bush too (white Lilac).
We did lots of planting too! My husband would be jealous of your rock - he's on the look out for a few!
Haha, love the new addition - the garden looks great!
Wow, that's a gorgeous combination of plants!! Very nice.
your garden looks really lovely! I'm from Toronto as well! Do you grow herbs and vegetables in your garden?
