I find it pretty challenging to round up Indian artists and/or Indian inspired art for that matter. It is much harder than it looks. Maybe one day I will have droves of Indian artists and folks who generate Indian inspired art automatically sending me links to their work so that I can share it with the world! In the meantime, I will continue to stay on the hunt for it. So when I find something that is 'desi' inspired, my heart usually skips a beat or two. That pretty much happened to me when I found the work of German artist
Jens Kunik. His brief stint in India in early 2012 created lovely watercolours that have me wanting to see so much more!
My favourite. "Moment of Relaxation" by Jens Kunik. Available on
Saatchi Online.
Jens Kunik's "Nandi" can be seen
here.
Jens Kunik's "Meditation" also found
here. Pretty.

I agree. These paintings are gorgeous! I like the first painting, there are so many layers of different landscape and animals. Great find Sundeep!
WOW, love these airy paintings - so light and charming! Am a new follower of your blog - come and follow me too?
Absolutely gorgeous. The colours are breathtaking!
I love this artwork - stunning colors and the technique lends an ethereal feel to the pieces.
I am an Indian and I can make out the reasons that has inspired the painter to draw such a beautiful art, especially "Nandi" it's truly Indian. Love your post. :)
