Lovely long locks.
After months of her asking I did the research after and found out we needed a minimum of eight inches. K was patient enough to grow it out.
Here we go. She was a trooper...didn't flinch for a second. I think I was the one gasping...I needed a moment to say goodbye (I know, its just hair).
Aunt J here needed more moral support. But she was a trooper...with gorgeous hair.
K getting her hair 'did'. Thanks to the salon artist over at Donato's Salon & Spa.
All gone! K & aunt J rocking their new stylish bobs.
K's little letter to Pantene to include with her hair donation. Someone pass me a tissue..I'm going all mama emotional right now. All images via me.
For any of you interested in donating your lovely locks for a good cause...check out the Pantene Beautiful Lengths programme. If my six year old can do it...you can too.

I'm amazed at how our kids are so in tune with the needs of others. I don't remember being like that at ALL! Way to go K and Aunt J.
Oh my gosh, I love this post! What a little sweetie! I've donated my hair a couple of times and now you've totally inspired me to talk to my little 6 year-old about it. I think she'd be just as eager to help as your little muffin.

She is such a generous and caring person. I believe I should congratulate you for raising such a smart and sensible young lady. Well done!
Oh Sundeep, this is amazing. I can only imagine how proud you must be - and should be! You clearly are doing an awesome job as a parent. :) And her new haircut is so cute!!
What a wonderful thing for your daughter to do. No wonder you're over-the-moon proud of her!
God...reading this post got me all teary eyed...you must be so so proud of her...how beautiful is this girl both outside and inside...hugs for her & you too..
Aww, that is the sweetest thing! This post made my week :)
My 8 year old and I do it as a mommy-daughter ritual. She joined me only this past spring after seeing me donate a few times now. We both love long beautiful locks, but we love the act of giving even more, especially one that is grown with so much love and patience (yes it gets tempting to chop off those locks during hot, humid summer months, but we never waiver in our cause).
It so happens that this tradition is catching on and my mom, colleagues and friends have also started doing the same. This simple act of giving reminds us that you don't need a big wallet to give; you only need a big heart and it multiplies as more people get inspired.
BTW Locks of Love is a similar program, but unlike Pantene requires a minimum of 10 inches of hair. Pass on the love.
oh my gosh! how amazing is she! what a sweetheart!
How sweet! A big hug to her. Clearly you are doing something right ... She is already inspiring people!
P.S. I am with GB. Don't' worry they grow back real soon!
