It has only taken me 5 days to recover from weekend Halloween birthday celebrations...

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

No body is still tired and we had Halloween birthday celebrations last Saturday. I mean back in the day I could go from club to airport  (actually, come to think of it that is not much to brag about). Now a birthday/Halloween celebration exhausts me. I blame the Internet - to much awesomeness that I wanted to try out and really had no time for. But I went full steam ahead because it was fun and I loved doing all the prep with the kids. They loved the anticipation of the party more than anything. I myself have fond memories of my childhood birthday celebrations to this day. My mom always made us feel so special on our birthdays and I hope that I am doing the same for my little ones. So what if I feel like an old lady afterwards - all worth the madness & smiles.
The kiddies and I made some glittered bats to decorate our front door. I saw this idea on Pinterest.
Can't go wrong with plastic pumpkins and table cloth over your house plant. Look closely, do you see me in my colourful costume?
My SIL C put together a lovely cheese tray with some creepy crawlies to boot.
Birthday girl K admiring our Phantom of the opera inspired Halloween decor. Thanks N for all the help with the decor!
Happy hour at our bar! Ahem, for the adults of course.
Yummy signature drinks with gummy eyeballs for the parents. There were 26 kids...I needed to keep the parents happy.
Thanks to lovely A for making these delicious shortbread finger cookies!
Even our vases got into the spirit.
Aunt C spoiled K with this gorgeous cake!
A little note that K wrote for all her guests as they arrived. Not sure if they noticed it but I sure did. I was touched that she was grateful...all a mommy could ever want. All images via me.

Happy Halloween folks.
