I haven't put up my Christmas tree yet because I went to New York instead..

Wednesday, December 5, 2012

I always have my tree up this time of year. Not the case this year (as a result I'm suffering from a little anxiety because of it) but hey, a girl has got to put herself first once and awhile. I don't know about you folks, but I pretty much always feel like I'm scrambling for time, doing 50 million things at once and dealing with pressures from work, life, kids all the time. So my girlfriends and I decided to take a little break from it all and head out to New York for a little shopping & fine dining. I'm fortunate to have such a strong group of women in my life who just 'get it'. We were all just in the moment -taking a breather from the endless multitasking and tight schedules. It was a real treat to just stop and do one thing. New York is such a vibrant, energy filled city that it instantly changes your mood. We had a blast together and I look forward to doing it again.  Here are just a few snaps I captured via my iPhone but there will be more to follow -once I actually download them onto my computer....(task #5342114).

Gosh, New York buildings are so pretty.
First time ever on the NYC subway...a tad crowded for me.

New York streets...

Not sure what this was while walking in Soho....

Love how Christmas trees were being sold all over the streets.

Yummy dinner at Bar Boulud. My friend C from NaokoEats will surely have a post up about it soon.

Cute bakery sign (again some famous chef or another that I can't for the life of me remember).

Every gal needs a little retail therapy, right? All images via me and my iphone.

Alright, now where is that Christmas tree decoration box?

i feel you in terms of pressure from all sides. For me it gets especially bad around the holidays. Just want to hide under the covers!

Already a Christmas tree! here in Norway we put it up usually after the 20th and mostly on 23rd - the little christmas eve , decorate and pile up the gifts and dance around it and it stays on till the 6th of January.

I'm a T.O. transplant in NYC -- the "milk" sign is from David Chang's restaurants...he owns Milk Bar, Saam Bar, Momofoku, and Ma Peche... the next time you are in the City, you must check them out
