Believe it or not, recently I have be daydreaming about my dream house (ahem, yes don't I do that everyday on this blog?). However more specifically, I have been obsessed with windows..my dream factory/industrial windows. Totally going to make it happen one day. So if you had to a version of these industrial looking windows, which one would it be? If you HAD to pick just one?

I have had my eye on this little treasure trove for a while now. Anand Prakash is a talented Indian designer and entrepreuner based out of New Delhi, India. He has created the most gorgeous, intricate brass metal work that leaves me pretty much speechless. His work includes lovely bookmarks and home office pieces just to name a few that have so much lovely texture and craftsmanship. I'm in awe with them. I'm tempted to buy a few of these not to hide away in books, but maybe Christmas ornaments or perhaps frame a few to glam up a wall? These little beauties need to be displayed right? In the meantime, have a look at Anand's work here...he ships around the globe.
Lovely Ek Onkar brass bookmark available here. Totally need to get this one for my mom!
An adorable Autorickshaw! So many awesome designs to chose from.
Scriptum pencil holder. These are not available for sale yet (as they are under production) but they are lovely. I would totally want one for my desk.
Throw this Scriptum bookend for my office as well...simply gorgeous.

To my friends for a lovely Saturday night dinner, to Christine from Bijou & Boheme for treating me to some killer Friedasophie earrings, to Shalon from Pretty Lovely Design for sprucing up my little blog (you like so far?), to my sis for making a boring replacement pillow shopping a fun mother daugther few hours and finally to the internet for having killer headboards like this for me to stare at and dream about. Okay Monday...bring it.
Lovely carved Lotus bed available at VivaTerra...I like this kind of drama when you wake up.

For a short week, it felt oddly long for me. I'm not complaining though as it ended on a high note. Nothing beats watching your baby perform at a school concert and last night we did just that. She was our little star and the best part is how my baby boy D watched in awe as his big sister sang her heart out. Big thanks to my sis-in-law R who helped me out with the kids...just giving me a few moments to myself was so thoughtful and truly appreciated. My other sis-in-law, C, sent me lovely flowers just because she thought they would make me smile. I know, how lucky am I? The flowers did indeed make me smile and reminded me how greatful I am for having these folks in my life. Happy Friday folks.
My lovely new flowers right next to my LOVE print by Jen Ramos from MadebyGirl. Temp spot for both the flowers and the art...just something to help me through my working day.
My little bit of spring even though outside it is currently a mad snowy winter day. All images via me.

Gorgeous Suneet Varma pink anarkhali outfit spotted here. How gorgeous is that pink in this living room?

I'm a believer. If you blog it... it will come. It was only a few days ago that I complained about my lamp fiasco and thanks to talented folks like Vanessa from Decor Happy & Tim from DesignMaze they pointed me to a lamp fairy (Modnest) who will help me out. Fingers crossed in a few weeks or so I'll have lovely new lamps! Since I'm feeling a whole lotta gold lamp love here are a few rooms to pick from, which space would you choose if you absolutely had to pick?
Coloured grass cloth? I know killer table and look at those lamps! Jackie Astier design featured on Elle Decor and photographer is Erick Piasecki.
Or some mellow yellow? Barclay Fryery design featured on House Beautiful.

Back to work today after taking a few days just hanging out with family. Totally did me good. I'm hoping I get my spunk back this week and start going through my mile long 'to do' list. I need the productivity fairy to pay a visit and help me along. You'll notice a few changes around here too...just some tweaks to make this blog space more fun for me (and you I hope!). In the mean time, because I'm missing my parents a little, I thought a 'mama's house instagram' post was just what I needed today.
My parents brought this pretty piece home all the way from India.
This was my late grandmothers. My mother is going to kill me because I can't remember what she called it in Punjabi. Its a family heirloom that I love looking at.
Surprisingly my parents were never afraid of bold patterns and colours (in rugs that is). These Persian beauties were bought over 15 years ago and I find them very current today.
Another souvenir from a trip to India. I'm hedging my bets that most Indian parents have one of these trinkets around their homes somewhere.
A little jewel box treat. Can you ever really have too many of these?
Oh, my mom never misses out decorating for the kids. She doesn't take it too seriously...an important lesson I think. Nothing like a dinasour in a house plant. Adds that special touch don't you think? All images via me.

Remember the post I did about the 10 things I want to accomplish this year (see here)? Well fixing up some really old lamps was on my priority list. Of course, I've watched plenty of DIYs on you tube, read loads of DIY blogs and googled the bejeezes out of it. So I was pumped. Got the lamp kit and was ready to go. Total bust. Apparently my gigantic hands inhibit me from maneuvering the cord up through the lamp. I'm such a novice. So now, I'm discouraged and the lamp has been in this unfinished state for over 2 weeks. Now what? I need to find some lamp person to sort this out. Does anyone have suggestions? I'm determined to get these 25-year-old beauties up and running gosh darn it. This is to be continued...
I don't like that white cord either it looks kind of ugly. Seriously the instructions were cryptic.
Well there is my monster hand obviously not capable of delicate lamp rewiring. Jeez I need a manicure and some moisturizer badly too. All images via me.

I am sad people. You know..the deep down kind of sad that just overcomes you in waves. But reading your comments and kind messages have been heartwarming and very comforting. Most of us blog because we get small glimpses into other people's lives...we connect in some small way, but you never think that a few words of kindness (from someone you really don't know) can make such an impact. It does. It really does and for that my sincerest thanks. I have a reinvigourated faith in random acts of kindness. Happy Friday folks...

I started this week with a lightness and a deep gratitude for all the love I have in my life. I didn't think for a minute that I would be forced to deal with a loss of such love so soon. My beloved Uncle B passed away yesterday. Suddenly and abruptly. He was like a father figure to me. He was one of those very few people you have in your life that offer unconditional support and kindness...always. He was extremely loving and only ever cared about family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. His loss is profound and will change our family forever. Forgive me as I step away for a few days to offer what support I can to my aunt and cousins who are feeling nothing but the deepest of despair.

Happy love day! We too got into the spirit this past weekend by busting out our crafting skills. Well, K did most of it. She had to do a project to commemorate a 100 days of school (we needed to create something with 100 things). Of course, with Valentines day around the corner we worked with hearts! 100 hearts to be exact. We finished off with valentine treats for her classmates. What will be on the agenda for today? A quick run to the chocolate store to buy my true loves some sweet treats and then shower them with loads of cuddles & kisses. My kind of valentines.
She called this piece.. "100 Hearts" by K.
Amazing what Dollarama can do for you.
Glue & stick away.
Time to write out her valentines!
Well, once she got going K couldn't stop. She created a second edition. My little artist. All images via me.

I figure this week I will make it feel like Valentine's day threw up all over my blog. Love, love, love all week long. Yep, I'll make it my affirmation for this week. Plus, I don't think you can ever have enough pink and red floating around can you? So I'll start with these love inspired beauties from Graham and Green. Come on....I'm sure you could think of one spot in your space where these might fit in? A must have in my books. Happy love week people.
I would feel very loved sitting in this chair. Wouldn't you? Lovely Raspberry Velvet Dietrich Chair availalbe at Graham and Green.
Some sublte Suzani love maybe? Pretty. Also available at Graham & Green.

New series maybe? Okay I think I just heard all of my friends do a collective gasp. Don't worry I'll ask for permission before...I promise (well, if you see me taking pictures at your house...that is me asking). Today just wanted to show you all my friend C's little blogging and chilling out spot. A good example how even with dark walls (light stripes if you look closely) with the right balance of accessories, adjoining wall colour and enough 'natural light' your space can feel bright and airy. I love the dark wall drama. Although I think we need to throw in some colour here. Maybe some yellow, blue or a splash of purple? So how many of you live with dark walls?
Oh I remember painting those walls. Good times. Benjamin Moore Willow and cloud white.
I needed to show you a close up of her lovely pillows. Homesense score. In case you're interested you can check out C's little foodie blog here. Thanks C! All images via me.

Nothing beats that 'wow' feeling you get when you spot something and you connect instantly. I love feeling excited to find out or see more. Well that is exactly how I felt when I first spotted Diem Chau's work. Diem Chau is a Vietnam native, who came to the US as a refugee in the 80s and is a studied and well acclaimed artist in her own right. She creates beautifully delicate pieces of art working with porcelains and various textiles. I love how her pieces unexpectedly tell a story and yet are so minimal. I never thought a plate or a tea cup would draw me in so much...they are breathtaking. Not to mention, Diem sculpts amazing pieces using crayons. Crayons people. It is amazing check it out and don't forget to see more of her talent here and her lovely blog here.
Gorgeous right? I mean that is a plate, organza and thread. Wow. Pink dress can be found here.
A tea cup...a tea cup people. Love. Red Shoes available here.
This one got me good. I love it. Slumber (49) 2011 available here.
Stunning little creations right? Spotted here.

UK artist Kangan Arora's fun and quirky artwork can't help but leave a smile on your face. Kangan is a textile designer and freelance photographer who is based out of London. She combines traditional techniques like hand embroidery an appliqué with screen-printing to create fun and quirky prints and surfaces. Kangan finds her inspiration in popular Indian culture and creates beautiful textiles for the home. I, of course, am drawn to the instant desi vibe. I'm kinda excited about her aesthetic. It doesn't take itself too seriously which is nicely refreshing. I mean, who doesn't love a cup of tasty Indian garam chai? Especially when the recipe is right on your tea towel. Check out Kangan's shop here and her blog here.
Colourful varanassi cow cushions are available here. Cute right?
Adore this tea towel. Need this tea towel. Will make more chai with this tea towel. Pinkie promise. Also available here.
Even better. Masala chai recipe on the tea towel itself. Perfect. I need to get me a set! Available here.
Chai linen pillow. Yes please. Available here.

I'm proud of myself this Monday. I actually managed to attend a few hot yoga classes this weekend (this has been on my 'to do list' for years and I have always shied away from it). It was tough but it was great. Talk about a work out. Let's hope I can keep this health / de-stress momentum going. Another way however is looking at pretty furniture. It always takes me to my happy place. So I had a great time clicking away at The Horchow Collection site...so many pretty things. Nothing like Asian toile and acrylic legs to kick start the week right?
Killer legs. I could easily live with this Elton bench in my bedroom. Available here.
I like this Dania Orientale Headboard too...Also available at The Horchow Collection.

This kitchen sure is. I adore it. I like it so much that I want to sell my house right now and go get a new one with this very kitchen in it. Its good to visualize...the weekend is coming. Hope you all have a golden weekend. Happy Friday folks.

I love the beginning of a new month. Gives me another chance to hit the 'reset' button again. You know, on all the things that lagged last month (ahem, exercising and eating right to name just a few). Anyway, what better way to start a new month with lovely bold art! Thanks to Supal from Chevrons & Eclairs a number of bloggers are using Hiroshi Matsumoto's abstract painting titled "December 2010- 4" as inspiration today. What a great way to promote up and coming artists right? Of course I looked at this piece and thought, well...how would I wear something like this if I was a bollywood star and more importantly, how could my space be inspired by it? If this painting was a Saree and then a room....
This painting gives you that bolt of energy doesn't it? You can find it here.
