The apples were magical...

Monday, September 30, 2013

That is the only way I can explain my spontaneous baking spree. It was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon so we all went out to the local orchid just to enjoy the good weather and run around in a corn maze. We ended up leaving with 9lbs of apples and a whole lotta happy memories. At home the apples were screaming 'bake me' so the kids and I did just that. Consulted my friend Google and made my very first apple blueberry crumble and about 2 dozen apple breakfast muffins! I'm no baker so it had to be these apples that got the family baking mojo going.

Mother nature always impresses.

He was concentrating hard to find the perfect apples!

Of course, he couldn't resist picking up the one all covered in ants.

 So many apples!

A fun walk into the corn maze.

 See, real corn.

Hands down, running around in the corn maze was my favourite part of the day!

I love the colour of fall.

Of course, my baking triumph was my first ever apple blueberry crumble that my family actually loved eating. Told ya, the apples were magic.

Beautiful photos! Looks like you had a great weekend with the family. :)
Everything always tastes better when you have to work for it a little "fruits of your labour" kind of thing I think.

We went Sunday morning! Took bad I forgot the camera, as always :( I"m trying to find a gluten free recipe to use up the apples, if you know of one, let me know!
